About Medical Procedures
Q: Should I visit a dermatologist regarding my skin cancer?
A: We would always suggest that you seek the best possible care, and it is often advantageous to seek multiple approaches to your medical condition. Once a skin cancer is diagnosed, it is usually treated by surgical excision. This is best performed by a physician with surgical training.
Q: Why is an in-office surgical procedure beneficial?
A: Because our office offers both diagnostic and surgical treatment facilities and equipment, we can often treat medical conditions in the most cost-effective manner while still maintaining the highest degree of up-to-date and professional procedures available.
Q: My physician has referred me to another surgeon in the Dallas area, but I would like a second opinion. Will Dr. Major review my surgical needs?
A: We will be happy to review your case, and if necessary – and with your permission – consult with your primary care doctor. We will help you make the most informed decision about your medical and surgical options.
Q: I need a colonoscopy, but have heard the prep can be nauseating. Do I have to drink "the drink?"
A: No. Our colonoscopy prep allows for a light solid food breakfast on prep day, then clear liquids of your choice for the rest of the day. Vigorous prep begins at 5 pm with Miralax powder in the sports drink of your choice. The Miralax powder is tasteless. Most people only miss one day of work for a colonoscopy.
